About the role

Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) is a patient-centred primary care hospital that has been established in Alexandria, Ontario for 60 years. HGMH provides acute care, 24-hour emergency services, outpatient services and rehabilitation to over 41,000 residents every year. Our team includes over 180 staff members, 50 Medical Staff members and 50+ volunteers who all take pride in bringing quality health care to our local Eastern Ontario community.

Position Purpose

Provide service in a customer-focused manner to patients, families, visitors and hospital staff. Facilitate the delivery of patient care by providing a high level of support and assistance. Support the operation of the team/department by providing clerical and administrative functions in a proactive and organized manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum Ontario Secondary School Diploma;
  • Medical Terminology certificate;
  • Diploma from a recognized Medical Administration program;
  • Previous clerical experience in a hospital/medical environment;
  • Bilingual Mandatory - English and French, Oral proficiency in French - to be tested;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Adaptable to work in a changing environment;
  • Familiar with “Windows” operating system and patient registration software;
  • Ability to process physician’s orders;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Strong attendance and punctuality.
