About the role
Motion Canada is actively recruiting a shop manager at our industrial service center in Nisku, AB. This location specializes in heavy industrial mechanical asset repairs, drive packages, and field services. We are seeking an individual with a strong technical background in our core strengths, demonstrated service business acumen, and leadership qualities that can take this already thriving business unit to the next level.
Purpose To lead a team of 25+ talented industrial tradespeople, technical specialists, and support staff that provide a variety of services supporting our diverse customer base in reducing overall maintenance costs, increasing machine availability, and maximizing their production capacity and profitability.
Key Accountabilities The Shop Manager is responsible for:
- Managing the day-to-day operations in compliance within corporate & regulatory safety & quality standards
- Driving operational efficiency through strategic planning and a robust training & development program
- Developing strong relationships with our customers, vendors and internal sales & specialists.
- Short-term & long-term strategic business development, planning & execution growing our market share and profitability
Training & Experience
- Industrial repair shop experience, supervisory experience and solid leadership skills are mandatory
- Mechanical aptitude, computer skills and strong communication skills are required
- Shop management experience, business acumen and financial acumen are preferred
- Trades certification, engineering and/or technologist background is mandatory
