What you'll be doing

As a Senior Analyst, HR Programs, you will play a key role in supporting HR initiatives through a blend of administrative and analytical responsibilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide guidance and ensure the seamless execution of HR initiatives. Your administrative duties will include adhering to established SLAs, accurately managing sensitive data and developing trackers to monitor progress. As one of the primary points of contact for stakeholders, you will proactively follow up on outstanding items, provide timely updates, and ensure efficient resolution of requests. Leveraging your analytical skills, you will deliver regular reporting, identify and recommend process improvements, and build reporting automations to enhance productivity and efficiency. Throughout, you will handle confidential information with integrity, always prioritizing risk mitigation for CIBC. Proficiency in Excel is required, while experience with Workday, databases, SQL, Power Query, Power BI, and Power Automate is considered a strong asset.

At CIBC, we enable a work environment that allows you to thrive. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid arrangement, spending 1-3 days per week on-site, with the remainder remote. Details on your work arrangement will be discussed during your interview.

How you’ll succeed

  • Attention to Detail – You approach every task with precision and care, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of your work. You consistently spot inconsistencies and errors that others may overlook, and you take pride in delivering work that is thorough and reliable, especially when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Autonomous – You are a self-starter who takes initiative and ownership of your responsibilities. You work independently, anticipate needs, and proactively address issues without waiting for direction. You are comfortable questioning processes or data that doesn’t seem right, always striving for the highest standards.
  • Reporting & Analytics – Perform data analysis and come up with creative visualizations to support executive reporting activities. Conduct in-depth reviews of data to derive insights and ensure accuracy. Write advanced Excel formulas (Pivot tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF statements, etc.), SQL queries, and build automations within Excel, Power Query, Power BI and Power Automate to streamline reporting.
  • Organization – Effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and inquiries during high-volume periods, maintaining accurate tracking of all outstanding items. Ensure timely follow-up and clear communication with stakeholders to support consistent progress and successful outcomes.
  • Critical Thinking – Apply critical thinking, creativity, and sound judgment to determine the best possible outcomes. Analyze data and situations to fully understand risks and benefits, guiding productive decisions. Share your knowledge and ideas openly, knowing your perspective matters.
  • Process Improvement – Actively participate in end-to-end process design sessions to create new or refine current processes. Support updates to documentation for proposals and recommendations for senior leader review and approval.
  • Communication – Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to present perspectives and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leaders. Build and leverage strong relationships to provide consultation and subject matter expertise.
