Your Opportunity:
As an Orthopaedic Technician, you will work to your full LPN scope of practice in both the Emergency Department and the AMSAFE sports clinic.
Description:
As an Orthopaedic Technician (Ortho Tech), you will apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints and traction equipment utilized in the care of orthopaedic patients (clients, residents). You will observe, monitor, report and document changes in the patient's physical, mental and emotional state, while providing safe and effective, quality care. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program.
- Active or eligible for registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
- Completion of an accredited specialty Orthopaedic Technician program.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months of experience as an orthopedic technician.
- Connect Care training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an Emergency Department.
- Previous experience in an Acute Care, Cast clinic, Med/Surg or ICU department.
