Position Summary

As our company continues to grow, we are looking to add a dedicated Shop Technician to our team. Reporting to the Shop Manager, this role is key in assembling equipment and products according to drawings and work orders. We’re seeking someone with a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and accountability who thrives in a collaborative warehouse environment. The Shop Technician will use their knowledge and hands-on experience to complete a variety of tasks efficiently and accurately, contributing to our ongoing success.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general tasks related to assembly, material handling, clean-up, basic tool and machinery operations, and other elemental activities at manufacturing shops.
• Utilize hand and power tools, along with measuring equipment, to assemble products to desired specifications.
• Operate equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, shop, and yard.
• Assist with shipping and receiving duties, including loading and unloading supplies from delivery vehicles, sorting and picking parts, and preparing outgoing shipments.
• Conduct periodic inventory counts to ensure accuracy of stock levels.
• Perform other duties as required by the Shop Manager.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Technical and mechanical aptitude with a strong commitment to safety.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing work environments.

Requirements:

• Some experience in a related field
• Mechanical courses considered an asset
• Familiarity with mechanical tools and working in and round engines
• Forklift experience considered an asset
• Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs consistently and remain on feet for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License and steel-toed boots required for the first day of work.
