Are you passionate about shaping the student experience? Do you thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment? We’re looking for a current University of Regina student interested in joining our Student Success Centre team!

As one of our Student Assistants, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of our unit, providing top-quality support to students, staff, faculty, and community members. Reporting to the Academic Advising Coordinator, Student Assistants work as part of a team responsible for the daily operations of the unit.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide excellent customer service

o In a dynamic and fast-paced environment
o In a variety of formats (in person, email, phone)
o To a variety of stakeholders (students, staff, faculty, community members)

  • Develop a working knowledge of

o Basic Student Success Centre supports and services

o Basic University of Regina academic policies and procedures

  • Manage and work with records and data

o Both public and confidential
o To provide recommendations on policies and processes based on your experience

  • Assist with event planning and facilitation

  • Additional duties as required

Position Requirements

Successful Applicants Must:

  • Be current University of Regina students
  • Be legally able to work in Canada

Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role:

  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions based on sound judgement and critical thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in an environment with regular interruptions and shifting priorities and while paying attention to a high level of detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with University of Regina technology tools (UR Self Service, Visual Schedule Builder, UR Courses, Degree Audit, etc.)
  • Familiarity with University of Regina undergraduate programs, faculties, and federated colleges
  • Familiarity with Student Success Centre services and supports
  • Willingness to ask questions and collaborate with team members
  • Excellent listening and communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to comply with the Freedom of Information and the Protection of Privacy Act

Physical Demands

Sitting at a desk and using a computer for long periods of time in a typical office environment

Pay Grade CUPE Phase 1 Salary Range As per CUPE 5791 Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours

  • Flexible hours within operating hours (Monday to Friday: 8:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
  • Student Assistants can expect to work approximately 10-15 hours per week
