**WORKDAY TECHNICAL ARCHITECT (6 month contract)

Location: Remote, BC

Staffing Placement Opportunity** Scope of Work The Workday Technical Architect will provide executive-level technical architecture leadership, team oversight, and design governance across the in-scope phases of a Workday implementation. This role includes direct management of the Digital Workday Technical Implementation and oversight of the complete technical architecture organization, including Data Architecture, Conversion, Integrations Architecture, and Reporting/Dashboards teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for enterprise-wide Workday technical architecture strategy, integration patterns, and technical design governance across all technical workstreams.

  • Establish and enforce technical design standards, configuration governance frameworks, and integration architecture principles across Data Architecture, Integrations, and Reporting teams.

  • Lead and oversee technical architecture activities across Design and Foundation Tenant Build phases, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and coordinating across all technical workstreams.

  • Architect and oversee integration design, security architecture, data architecture, reporting frameworks, and technical conversion strategies.

  • Lead technical architecture reviews, configuration validation checkpoints, and integration design reviews.

  • Provide technical leadership for Unit Testing execution, including technical defect analysis, root cause identification, and resolution prioritization.

  • Provide senior technical architectural guidance to project stakeholders, system integrators, and functional teams.

  • Lead and manage the Data Architecture and Conversion functions and provide executive oversight to the technical architecture organization.

  • Oversee the Data Architecture workstream, including:

  • Defining foundational data models

  • Establishing master data management strategy

  • Developing data governance frameworks

  • Designing data migration and conversion strategies

  • Oversee the Integrations Architecture workstream, including:

  • Designing enterprise integration patterns

  • Defining API architecture

  • Establishing middleware strategies

  • Supporting real-time and batch integration frameworks

  • Guiding integration testing approaches

  • Oversee the Reporting and Dashboards workstream, including:

  • Defining reporting architecture

  • Establishing analytics frameworks

  • Creating dashboard design standards

  • Supporting business intelligence strategies for Workday reporting capabilities

Required Expertise The candidate must have expert-level knowledge and demonstrated hands-on experience in:

  • Workday technical architecture, including data model design, security architecture, tenant strategy, and environment management.
  • End-to-end data conversion strategy, including source-to-target mapping, data transformation, cleansing, reconciliation, validation, and cutover planning.
  • Enterprise integration architecture, including Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, APIs, middleware platforms, and complex interface ecosystems.
  • Reporting architecture and analytics strategy, including Workday reporting frameworks, Prism Analytics (if applicable), dashboard design, and data governance controls.
  • Enterprise data governance, privacy, and security considerations within regulated environments.
  • Integration and data performance optimization across large, multi-entity implementations.
  • Technical risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution.

Role Expectations The Workday Technical Architect is responsible for establishing architectural standards, ensuring cross-workstream technical cohesion, and aligning solution design with enterprise architecture principles and program governance.

This role provides oversight to ensure technical decisions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with long-term operational and support models .

Strong executive-level written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant insights. The successful candidate must consistently demonstrate critical thinking, architectural discipline, sound judgment, and effective collaboration across technical and business domains throughout the engagement.
