About the role
DESCRIPTION
Cummins is looking for a Power generation technician to complete its mobile team based in Winnipeg, MB.
In this role, you will have the following impacts :
- Engage with customer in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
- Apply the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
- Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
- Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Complete training in line with skill and business requirements
- Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation
RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role, you will need the following :
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Heavy duty mechanics OR Truck and transport red seal certification will be considered
- Electrical license will be considered.
- Current relevant electrical certification: Manitoba Limited Trade License - Generator (M-D) is required for this role.
- Locally valid driving permit.
- Clean driver's abstract will be required for this role.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
- Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products.
- High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience.
- Familiar with the CSA 282 regulations standard.
- Familiar with different software, search engines and diagnostic tools.
About the role:
- Working hours are Monday-Friday 730am to 4pm with some after hour work, site visits after regular hours etc.
- Must be willing and able to travel to remote locations via charter and commercial flights - often smaller aircrafts.
- Work will include PM's (semi-annual and annual)-load banking, diagnostics and repairs on power generation equipment.
- Work is mainly on remote sites.
