Position Details
The University of Lethbridge is seeking a System Analyst – Records to lead campus-wide efforts in electronic document records management exploration and adoption. This is a two-year (2) term position located at our Lethbridge campus.
Position Overview
As the System Analyst – Records, you will play a central role in advancing the university’s capacity to leverage Microsoft Purview with sensitivity labels, retention policies and labels across administration and research. You will plan and deliver the implementation of an electronic document records management program based in Microsoft Purview and SharePoint Online. You will work within a small team of technical experts and process owners to understand the needs of the business and match them with capabilities of the application to optimize the management of electronic documents. This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure and works closely with the Records and Information Manager, Security and Systems teams, as well as academic and administrative units.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand Business Requirements
Work to understand the needs of the business and match them with capabilities of the Purview and SharePoint Online applications to optimize the management of electronic documents.
- Implement Electronic Records Management
Serve as the technical expert on Microsoft Purview to help develop an effective electronic document records management program with a small team.
- Leverage and Grow the Usage of Tools
Assist users to leverage tools such as SharePoint Online and Microsoft Purview to manage the lifecycle of digital records. Apply sensitivity labels, retention policies and labels to manage data. This will help teams to protect sensitive information and ensure the university meets its legal and regulatory obligations.
The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification and compensation review for Administrative Professional Officer (APO) positions. As such, the salary range currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project.
Position Qualifications
Education:
University degree in a relevant field (e.g. data science, computer science, etc).
Experience:
Microsoft SharePoint Online administration. Experience with Microsoft Purview would be ideal. Experience in a post-secondary setting is preferred.
Skills:

2+ years of experience configuring and managing SharePoint Online.

Experience working with records management and electronic document management system implementations.

Any familiarity with Microsoft 365 compliance features beyond records management.

Excellent planning, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

Strong written and verbal communication.
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$65,153.16 - $81,963.08 annually
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$65,153.16 - $98,772.99 annually (APO - Grade 3)
