Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members and are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $79770 - $105966.8. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training.
This position may also be eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP). AIP amounts are variable and are dependent on both company and individual performance, subject to eligibility criteria. The target bonus percentage for this role is 5% of annual base earnings.
The Business Data Analyst helps identify opportunities to grow, optimize and improve S&C’s business processes. The ideal candidate will have a degree/certificate in Computer Science with demonstrated experience in data modelling and dashboard deployment. You will support data-driven strategic initiatives through quantitative analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis by applying advanced statistical methods to extract meaningful insights. Generate regular reports that detail findings and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop and maintain databases and data collection systems tailored to S&C that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Provide actionable insights to leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Investigate, analyze, and inform on critical projects and business initiatives. Formulate strategic recommendations based on data-driven analysis, advocating for evidence-based actions.
- Source data from both primary and secondary channels, ensuring a high quality flow of reliable data. Oversee the integrity and maintenance of data sets, flagging and escalating data issues as they are identified.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets. Effectively communicate insights and recommendations from these trends to diverse audiences.
- Filter and clean data by reviewing reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Locate and define opportunities to refine business processes, leveraging data to drive efficiency and innovation.
- Develop predictive models to forecast future trends and behaviors.
- Facilitate data literacy workshops for team members, enhancing the organization’s overall data competence.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the security and compliance of data handling and storage practices.
- Monitor industry developments and technological advancements to keep data management practices up-to-date. Provide weekly/monthly reports to the senior leadership team.
What we are looking for:
- A bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a comparable discipline.
- 2+ years of professional experience in data analysis, demonstrating a track record of interpreting complex datasets.
- A strong theoretical and practical foundation in statistics, with proficiency in using statistical software tools.
- Expertise in data analysis programming languages, including SQL, Python, and R, with the ability to write efficient, maintainable code.
- Exceptional analytical skills, capable of compiling, structuring, examining, and presenting large datasets with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Skilled in creating interactive data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau.
- Adept at conducting critical evaluations of data to extract meaningful, actionable insights that drive business success.
- Great communication and presentation skills, with the talent to distill and convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Rounded interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, paying strict attention to accountability and project goals.
- Good interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
- Great organizational, planning and project management skills, coordinating internal and external resources and juggling key account demands.
- Great computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office applications; specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, PowerBI & Power Apps.
- Capable of embracing diversity and equity to ensure they contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace. Prior experience in manufacturing is an asset.
Physical Effort:
Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs.

Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of everyday expected levels (all jobs will occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events).
