Underwriting assistant

We distribute our solutions to a network of 4,000 partner brokers (B2B) through innovative and tailored products. As part of the APRIL Group based in France, APRIL Canada currently employs 100 people across its offices in Brossard and Toronto. The group, which operates internationally with more than 2,700 employees, stands out for its expertise in managing complex risks, particularly in niche segments requiring a high level of specialization. We are currently looking for an Underwriting Assistant. Your role will involve performing various tasks in support of underwriters.

Your mission in a few words:

  • Assist underwriters with policy endorsements, renewals, and new business processing
  • Communicate with brokers via email and phone to provide timely updates and support
  • Prepare, issue, and process insurance policies and billing documentation
  • Perform administrative and clerical tasks to support underwriting operations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with broker partners

Qualifications & personality we are looking for:

  • 1–2 years of experience in insurance, underwriting support, or a related administrative role
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional, positive, and client-focused attitude
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Team-oriented with the ability to adapt to change
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with PolicyWorks is an asset
