About the role
R.W. Tomlinson is looking for an individual to fill a Portable Crushing Plant Operator position in the Materials Group.
Location: Various locations in the Ottawa area extending down the 401 corridors.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Maintain and operate the crushing plant.
-
Maintain maximum plant output.
-
Perform daily plant checks.
-
Recording production and downtime.
-
Recording preformed, and required maintenance.
-
Clean around the plant using a skid steer and hand shovel when needed.
-
Ensure good housekeeping including keeping the tool trailer and MCC buildings clean, organized and free of tripping hazards.
-
Make note of any defective safety equipment around the crushing plant and make sure it is tagged and discarded appropriately.
-
Check daily that guarding is in place.
-
Operate loader and rock truck when required.
-
Remain focused and diligent of plant operations.
-
Complete miscellaneous jobs assigned by the Quarry Foreman.
REQUIREMENTS
-
Availability to work flexible hours which may include working evenings, nights, and weekends.
-
Willing to work at other sites when required, and out of the Ottawa area for prolonged periods.
-
Heavy equipment experience.
-
Ability to use power and hand tools.
-
Mechanically inclined.
