Position Information Temporary position until approximately November 27, 2026. Access to quality and accurate data is paramount in today's healthcare environment, University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI) Data Analytics department is looking for a candidate to join our reporting team in fulfilling those needs. Being a premiere cardiac center there are many facets where data is required. These range from clinical and operational to educational and research, we are seeking a person that can meet with clinical stakeholders, assess the needs and scope of the request and bring it to realization. A successful candidate will bring together their understanding of the hospital environment and procedures while complimented via a strong working background with complex datasets in producing the optimal reporting solution for the engaged stakeholder.
The University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI) Data Analytics department is looking for a person with a background in healthcare and reporting solutions with good leadership and analytical skills. The team works on creating, supporting and improving the various reporting needs of the organization. This can range from operational requirements to research requests where timelines and requirements can vary. The projects may be abundant and similar or be unique limited; the Senior Business Analyst primary responsibilities are:
- Providing reporting support for the organization and acting as a liaison between the business/end users and Data analytics team;
- Collaborating with stakeholders to determine requirements and goals;
- Providing solid process documentation & assessments through all phases of an initiative.
Rotation/Shifts Days, 8 hour shifts.

What You Will Bring
- Completion of a University degree plus equivalent experience in a relevant discipline;
- Strong understanding of healthcare services reporting needs, or operational workflows;
- Database & query development SQL focus, advance knowledge within MS 365 and analytical tool suite (Excel, PowerQuery, PowerBI);
- Proficient in collaborating with stakeholders to determine report/project requirements and goals;
- Excellent communication skills for effectively listening and conveying requirements of the project back to the stakeholders as well as to any other teams that may be required to be involved;
- Proficiency in coordinating with other departments, stakeholders and IT specialists;
- Strong organizational skills for individual accountability to project objectives and activities;
- Further consideration will be given to those with Epic certifications and related;
- Eligible to work in Canada.
