ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This role offers the opportunity to support innovative energy and midstream projects, contributing to early-stage research, economic analysis, and business case development. You will work with a high degree of independence while supporting project planning through cost tracking, forecasting, performance monitoring, and reporting to support informed decision-making.
As a Business Analyst, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Work with accounting and project managers to support internal and client cost management expectations

Conduct daily, weekly and monthly audits on data integrity regarding cost coding
-
Provide weekly cost and performance reporting using earned value methodology
-
Support project management with project forecasting
-
Support financial team with accruals reporting and the invoicing process as required
-
Provide oversight of material purchase order breakdown and cost budget allocations
-
Review committed cost vs actual cost and remaining cost against all purchase orders
-
Support project team with change management ensuring changes are estimated and tracked in accordance with the project work breakdown structure
-
Provide all additional cost reporting in accordance with client and internal requirements
-
Support to team on PowerBI for data visualization and reporting, including creating dashboards, writing DAX queries, and connecting to various data sources.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and team safety by closely following company safety policies, standards, and procedures

Assist with other responsibilities as needed to contribute to the overall success of the team
We are looking for the following skills and qualifications:
-
Undergraduate degree in related discipline
-
2 - 5 years of experience in a related field
-
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect and analyze information/data and highlight key insights to support recommendations and decisions.

Experience in developing cost breakdown structures in alignment with project work breakdown structures
-
Solid understanding of estimate breakdowns and conversion to cost budgets
-
Familiarity with Microsoft suites & PowerBI
-
Experience in business writing and reporting
