ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This role offers the opportunity to support innovative energy and midstream projects, contributing to early-stage research, economic analysis, and business case development. You will work with a high degree of independence while supporting project planning through cost tracking, forecasting, performance monitoring, and reporting to support informed decision-making.

As a Business Analyst, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Work with accounting and project managers to support internal and client cost management expectations

• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly audits on data integrity regarding cost coding

• Provide weekly cost and performance reporting using earned value methodology

• Support project management with project forecasting

• Support financial team with accruals reporting and the invoicing process as required

• Provide oversight of material purchase order breakdown and cost budget allocations

• Review committed cost vs actual cost and remaining cost against all purchase orders

• Support project team with change management ensuring changes are estimated and tracked in accordance with the project work breakdown structure

• Provide all additional cost reporting in accordance with client and internal requirements

• Support to team on PowerBI for data visualization and reporting, including creating dashboards, writing DAX queries, and connecting to various data sources.

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and team safety by closely following company safety policies, standards, and procedures

• Assist with other responsibilities as needed to contribute to the overall success of the team

We are looking for the following skills and qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in related discipline

• 2 - 5 years of experience in a related field

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect and analyze information/data and highlight key insights to support recommendations and decisions.

• Experience in developing cost breakdown structures in alignment with project work breakdown structures

• Solid understanding of estimate breakdowns and conversion to cost budgets

• Familiarity with Microsoft suites & PowerBI

• Experience in business writing and reporting
