About the Role:

In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to plan materials efficiently, develop and enforce spares and asset management processes, source necessary items, maintain optimal inventory levels, and enhance customer service through effective communication and vendor relationships.

Reporting

The Materials Specialist/ Internal Operations reports directly to the Vice President of Spares.

Key Performance Indicators / Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Directors and Project Managers to ensure timely planning of materials for identified requirements.
  • Develop, document, and enforce spares and asset management processes, including but not limited to reporting and tracking in coordination with relevant managers and stakeholders.
  • Identify and communicate process gaps and potential risk to the Vice President of Spares.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance spares and asset management to support AALI operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders stage spares and assets for maintenance events.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels based on KPIs to support the worldwide fleet.
  • Research market conditions for supply chain strategies and best practice the availability of assets or spares to facilitate pre-planned repairs or overhauls.
  • Manage project documentation, procurement priorities, and additional assignments from the Vice President of Spares.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Procurement of Assets, Spares, and Services:

  • Procure assets, spares, and services in a cost and time efficient manner, aligning with the Corporate Delegation of Authority.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely sourcing of materials and services.
  • Conduct proper search methods within the applicable quantum ERP to update Fair Market Value and procurement history.

Expediting Requirements:

  • Build effective working relationships with vendors, AASI expediter and other relevant stakeholders for AALI Projects.
  • Provide timely material Reporting to identify critical path parts.
  • Proactively communicate with vendors to prevent delivery delays.
  • Offer feedback to Procurement Supervisor and Purchasers on vendor performance.

Qualifications

  • Supply Chain related accreditation preferred.
  • A strong understanding of aviation parts and materials is an asset.
  • Stock replenishment and Spares Management experience are required.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, specifically Excel and word.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated active listening skills.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • Planning, organizing, multitasking skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Able to work productively in a fast-paced environment and independently as required.

Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an Aviation related Role with proven ability to competently perform all job functions.
