About the role

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

This position is responsible for managing all GSI administration including new cases and additional enrolments in the Client Acquisition and Service Division at RBC Insurance. This includes coordinating the activities of the internal and external business partners to create a controlled environment for processing GSI applications and questions. All requests should be handled with high priority to ensure fast and effective turnaround time ensuring a seamless delivery of the GSI experience. Committed to embrace Client First values and goals, deepen client relationships, become innovative, and be accountable for performance metrics. Demonstrate collaborative relationships with all clients and service partners, and a great level of skill and knowledge in the job. Make significant contributions to the overall success of team goals and objectives.

What will you do?

  • Manage and coordinate all requirements of the new business process from application submission through to settlement. Communicate regularly with clients, producers and internal partners. Support the development of an organization focused on high quality risk assessment, by ensuring applications are set up appropriately. Responsible for handling high or variable volumes of business, by setting priorities and monitoring workload constantly.
  • Provide education and training to plan administrators and producers on application completion, product information and plan design.
  • Establish and build relationships with producers, plan administrators and all clients (internal and external partners). Accountable to push business through to placement, including following up on all outstanding items or placing requirements.
  • Work closely with internal partners to provide seamless service (New Business, Underwriting, Client Services, and Regional Office Staff).
  • Ensuring delivery of a superior client experience & achieving levels of client satisfaction that contribute positively to persistency and reputation in the market place. Provide responsive telephone and e-mail service while handling inquiries from internal and external partners
  • Partake in ensuring guidelines and process documents are up to date. Make recommendations for improving processes

What will you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, WORD and EXCEL
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to multi-task
  • Teamwork, collaboration and co-operation
  • Listening, understanding and responding
  • Experience in a high volume/high intensity customer service environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Multi-task and detail oriented

Nice to have:

  • Fluent in both English and French, written and spoken
  • 2 years of insurance experience in brokerage channel and distribution channels
  • Living Benefits portfolio product knowledge
  • Strong analytical and complex problem resolution abilities
  • Adaptability to changes in processes and procedures
  • Client focused
