Your role:

Engagement Preparation: Prepare, examine and analyze client accounting records including journal entries, assets, liabilities, expenditures, bank reconciliations, financial statements, corporate and personal income tax, GST returns, some bookkeeping information to ensure financial recording accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.

Training & Development: Participate in the CPA PEP and internal trainings and development opportunities in an effort to improve technical skills.

Team Initiative: Regular engagement with all levels of the team for feedback, communications, and meetings, as needed.

Team Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships, learning to ensure high-quality prompt execution of your deliverables, and develop your professional skills.
What you bring to the table:
-
Work Experience: Prior co-op, work-term or public practice experience is a strong asset, particularly in tax or compilation work.

Academic Achievement: Completed, or near completion of an undergraduate degree such as a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration with an Accounting Major and CPA pre-requisite courses.

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with TaxPrep and CaseWare is a plus.

Communication & Time Management: Strong ability to work and communication collaboratively with your team to ensure quality work that meets deadlines.

Knowledge: Knowledge of basic to entry-level accounting principles. Completed undergraduate courses in Financial Accounting and Income Tax are an asset.

Additional Key Skills: Effective communication, attention to detail, client service orientation, ethical approach and standards to performance, the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and dedication and willingness to learn from and work with others are essential to thrive in this role.
