POSITION/TITLE: On-Call Part time Office / Curriculum Assistant
REPORTS TO: Vice Principal / Administrative Assistant
HOURS: On-call, as needed during absences or peak periods
WAGE: Commensurate with experience
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: As soon as possible – June 12, 2026
JOB SUMMARY
Chief Atahm School is seeking an organized, reliable, and professional individual to provide on-call administrative support in the school office and curriculum department. The On-Call Office / Curriculum Assistant plays a key role in maintaining smooth daily operations, supporting staff, students, and parents, and ensuring effective communication within the school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
- Answer phones, take messages, and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
- Support attendance tracking, filing, and student records management.
- Assist with correspondence, photocopying, and document preparation.
- Support daily office functions such as mail distribution, supply inventory, and scheduling.
- Provide administrative support during special events or busy periods.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Vice-Principal or Administration Assistant.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary training in office administration preferred).
- Minimum one year of office or administrative experience, preferably in an educational or community setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a busy environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional in manner and appearance.
- Knowledge of Secwepemc language and culture considered an asset.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
- Acceptable RCMP Criminal Record check with vulnerable sector clearance
