The Packaging Development Engineer position is a role within the Research and Innovation department at Danone and will be responsible for the research and development of packaging assemblies in support of Danone Canada. This position will be located in our Boucherville, Quebec office.
In this role you will be accountable for
Support Danone Innovation process by proposing, developing and implementing packaging options.
Demonstrate creativity in the development of packaging systems.
Develop and deliver technical guidance on primary, secondary and transport packaging in support of the business units at Danone (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain).
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, sister Danone companies, plants, co-manufacturers and other sources of applicable technologies.
Contribute to the packaging development for projects of all sizes (Innovation, Productivity, Sustainability).
Accountable for the creation and maintenance of the packaging specifications for the Danone brands.
Organize and conducts trials in an industrial environment.
About You Degree in Packaging Engineering and Technology or engineering degree such as Mechanical, Chemical or other related engineering science)
1- 3 years’ experience in a packaging engineering field (preferably in the food or beverage industry)
Experience in thermoforming, injection molding and extrusion blow molding
Experience with polyolefins (PE,PP,HDPE,PS), their properties and use as food containers
Proficient in the use Microsoft Office software, Microsoft Project, CAPE or TOPS, and AutoCAD
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast pace environment
Are you eligible for a V.I.E? V.I.E is a Business France device allowing Europeans to work internationally for a designated company. This is a 6 to 24 months contract.
You must be aged between 18 to 28.
You must have completed national service obligation
You must be a citizen of the European Economic Area
You must have never worked in the country in which you wish to do your VIE.
What are the contractual advantages of the V.I.E?
Business France handles everything for volunteer’s contract
Business France handles the whole care insurance for volunteers (sickness; maternity invalidity; work accidents)
There are no taxes and charges on salary. There are no unemployment benefits and retirement contribution
You will be granted with 2,5 days off per month
Your gratification is fixed according to the Business France grid
