About the role
Job Description The Packaging Supervisor is accountable for motivating employees to produce quality product in a consistent, timely and cost-effective manner that meet and exceed the quality expectations of our customers. The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for supervising the performance and results of unionized employees leading to a well preforming team. Perform applicable food safety duties in the absence of personnel within the Production department.
- Annual Salary - 65,000 - 78,000
Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the packaging department.
- Initiate problem solving in packaging to improve results.
- Supervising the performance and results of union employees leading to a well performing team. Develop, lead and coach employees through effective training and recognition. Foster and maintain a positive labor relations environment by ensuring that all employees are treated with respect, grievances are dealt with in a timely manner, and employee concerns are managed in accordance with the collective agreement.
- Utilize equipment, supplies and personnel to maximize productivity.
- Identify productivity improvements.
- Provide guidance and supervision to employees to ensure that standard operating procedures are understood and followed. Ensure compliance to Government regulations and Company specifications for HACCP, Sanitation, and Safety.
- Document and maintain accurate records with respect to employee performance, product quality, daily reconciliation, health and safety, and attendance.
- Manage rework and tote inventory daily
Qualifications
- 5+ Years production experience - preferably in a food processing industry
- Exhibit strong teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Show a high level of passion and drive.
- Hold a university undergraduate degree or diploma in Business, Engineering, or a technical field, with strong academic performance is an asset
- Must have supervisory work experience and strong leadership skills, with the potential to learn will be given consideration.
