About the Position:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Generosity Services, the Assistant, Generosity Services is an integral part of the Generosity Services team responsible for day-to-day donor support and customer service, donation processing and fulfillment.
Some specific duties:
- Delivering exceptional donor and supporter stewardship while responding to calls, emails and messages from supporters in a timely manner.
- Assisting BC SPCA centre staff with donation and receipt related questions
- Processing various types of donations using Raiser’s Edge, including direct mail, special events, monthly donations, tributes and major donations while ensuring security and integrity of payment and donor information.
- Producing, and ensuring the accuracy of, charitable tax receipts and preparing them for mailing.
- Ensuring the accuracy of donor biographical, contact, and financial data through maintenance of Raisers Edge and other offline and online systems, and through performing of regularly scheduled data integrity and audit checks.
- Contributing to the maintenance and development of procedures to accurately reflect duties.
- Participating positively in team meetings and providing ideas for improving departmental functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications you need to have:
- Post Secondary education plus 2-3 years work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the employer.
- Experience with:
- Delivering exceptional customer service
- High volumes of transaction processing with quick and accurate data entry.
- Dealing with confidential materials
- Knows at least one CRM well and are open to learning others (preference for prior experience with Raiser’s Edge. Experience with Shelter Buddy and Shopify an asset).
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional, written, oral and persuasive communication skills, including an ability to relate respectfully to a diverse audience.
- Philosophical harmony with the vision, mission, and strategic directions of the BC SPCA.

The BC SPCA is the only animal welfare organization in B.C. with the authority to enforce animal cruelty laws under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (PCA Act). We are the largest animal welfare organization of our kind in North America and the largest animal sheltering society in the world. We have 44 locations across B.C. including:
36 branches which care for abused and homeless animals, until they are adopted into new homes (including two facilities with large animal barns)
