The Role
Connect3 Media (C3) is currently looking to fill the full-time role of Development Executive based in our Toronto office on a hybrid schedule. Reporting to the President of C3, the Development Executive will be responsible for helping grow and manage C3’s slate of original unscripted productions. The ideal candidate will utilize their experience and existing relationships with USA and UK based network executives, showrunners and talent to develop and cultivate ideas for new and original content.
Duties and Responsibilities

Sourcing and developing original unscripted content

Bringing in potential projects - analyze various IP opportunities to identify potential content for development in the broadcast space

Building pitch decks and writing copy
-
Helping to manage and coordinate with in-house research team
-
Accumulate knowledge of networks' schedules and trends and identify programming opportunities based on current cultural trends
-
Coordinating project-specific pitch materials with Executive Producer and internal teams
-
Aggressively develop, secure, and maintain good relationships with the creative community including talent, agents, and network buyers

Other tasks as assigned by the manager
Skills and Qualifications
-
5+ years in unscripted development including 2+ years in a senior position
-
Experience with development of a wide range of unscripted content including lifestyle to reality, series, premium and feature docs
-
Strong list of industry contacts and connection with priority in the USA and UK markets
-
Experience managing a team including freelancers and researchers
-
Critical thinking
-
High attention to detail
-
Time management and good organization
-
Able to work independently and in a team setting
-
Proficiency in Microsoft office, including excel and word, Canva
-
Strong and sensitive communication skills
