In this role, you will help utilities navigate some of the most complex and fast-evolving challenges in the energy transition. You will lead high-impact research, evaluation, and advisory programs focused on customer energy solutions and electrification initiatives. Acting as both a strategic advisor and hands-on project leader, you will guide multidisciplinary teams in delivering actionable insights that shape utility programs and market transformation efforts. You will work closely with clients to define problems, design research approaches, and translate findings into clear, decision-ready recommendations. The role blends client leadership, analytical rigor, and program management in a highly collaborative consulting environment. You will also contribute to advancing best practices in building electrification, customer engagement, and energy program evaluation. \n
Accountabilities: In this role, you will lead client-facing research and evaluation initiatives, ensuring high-quality delivery and strategic impact across customer energy solutions and electrification programs. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, oversee project execution, and serve as a trusted advisor to utility clients navigating market transformation and customer engagement challenges. Lead and manage research, evaluation, and advisory projects from design through delivery, ensuring alignment with client goals, scope, budget, and timelines Act as a strategic advisor to utility clients, identifying needs, risks, and opportunities while shaping research and evaluation strategies Design and execute qualitative and mixed-method research (e.g., interviews, focus groups), translating findings into clear, actionable insights Guide market transformation and building electrification studies, including program design, adoption analysis, and impact evaluation Oversee project teams, ensuring quality assurance, strong methodologies, and consistent delivery standards Communicate complex technical and research findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through reports, presentations, and memos Mentor junior staff and contribute to capability building, internal knowledge sharing, and team development Support process improvement, QA frameworks, and efficient project execution across engagements Requirements: This role requires strong experience in energy research, consulting, and evaluation within complex utility or adjacent environments. The ideal candidate combines deep subject-matter expertise in electrification and market transformation with strong leadership, analytical, and client management skills. 7+ years of professional experience, including at least 5+ years in energy research, evaluation, consulting, or related fields Strong expertise in market transformation programs and building electrification initiatives (program design, adoption, or evaluation) Proven experience leading end-to-end research projects, including qualitative methodologies such as interviews, focus groups, and thematic analysis Strong project management skills, including scope, budget, timeline, and stakeholder coordination Ability to synthesize complex technical and qualitative data into clear, structured recommendations Experience working with utilities or within energy, consulting, research, or regulated industry environments Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences Leadership experience mentoring teams and managing cross-functional project delivery Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, engineering, public policy, or a related field Familiarity with energy policy, regulatory frameworks, or program evaluation is a strong plus Benefits: $120,000–$150,000 USD base salary plus annual bonus opportunity Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans Company-paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage Flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care 401(k) plan with 3% employer match Flexible time off policy to support work-life balance Paid parental leave Remote-first work environment with limited travel (1–4 times per year) Collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on innovation in the energy sector.
