About the role
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is accountable for driving Fabco operation principles across all embedded primary locations (NF Winnipeg, MCI, Anniston) and Jamestown. This role ensures operational readiness, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to support the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and strategic objectives. The manager will champion Lean Enterprise integration, foster a culture of engagement, and deliver sustainable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Lead and develop manufacturing engineering teams across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with operational excellence standards.
- Drive manufacturing readiness by ensuring equipment uptime, tooling availability, and production capability.
- Mentor supervisors and engineers to build technical expertise, leadership, and accountability.
- Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing practices (Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management) to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Conduct make-buy analysis and maintain accurate routing and plant capability data.
- Lead downtime reduction initiatives through PM, TPM, operator training, and OEM collaboration.
- Support facility optimization, technology upgrades, and capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Requirements
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field; P.Eng or CET preferred
- Lean Green Belt/Six Sigma certification considered an asset
- Minimum 5-10 years in manufacturing engineering leadership roles, with proven success in multi-site operations and Project Management
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Operations
- Excellent communication, coaching and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
