About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on EHS professional to support leadership and employees on all health, safety, and environmental matters. The Senior EHS Specialist will help drive a strong safety culture, support system compliance, and maintain clean, organized, safe work environments across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and reinforce safe working practices aligned with company policies and legislative requirements
  • Provide daily guidance and support on EHS programs
  • Build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and collaborate as a key team member
  • Coach employees and leaders to promote safe behaviors and achieve zero incidents
  • Support incident reporting, investigations, and ensure corrective actions are completed on time
  • Review incidents for root cause and prevention opportunities
  • Assist with new hire and returning employee orientation
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and updating of the EHS Management System and documentation
  • Develop and deliver safety and environmental training for all employees
  • Participate in and support JHSC meetings
  • Conduct audits and provide recommendations to ensure policies and procedures are effectively implemented
  • Assist with WSIB claim management and modified duties coordination
  • Ensure timely development and submission of required reports and regulatory documentation
  • Maintain an accurate training matrix and monthly training schedule
  • Monitor legislative changes and provide recommendations to leadership
  • Review EHS KPIs and identify improvement opportunities
  • Lead and create content for site-level and company-wide EHS meetings

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
  • 5 - 7 years of EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of OHSA, CSA standards, and legislative requirements; ISO auditing experience considered an asset
  • Experience with EHS system management software (asset)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Customer-service mindset with sound judgment and professionalism
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with urgency and accuracy
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience selecting/sourcing PPE and coordinating vendor relationships
  • Ability to review and approve new materials and equipment from an EHS perspective
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
