About the role

We’re excited to be expanding our Safety team at rcs construction and are currently seeking a Safety Administrator to join us at our Bedford location in a full-time, permanent role.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in safety operations and compliance while working closely with a dedicated team committed to our Safety First & Always Program. You’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Safety team by keeping documentation, audits, inspections, and compliance processes running smoothly across multiple sites.

How you’ll spend your day:

Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Safety Manager and Safety Department.

Organize and maintain the company Health & Safety Program.
-
Manage and maintain safety documentation.
-
Enter and validate data in safety systems; generate reports on compliance, incidents/near misses, inspections, and KPIs.

Assist in creating, formatting, updating, and distributing safe work practices, procedures, and policies.
-
Maintain the Safety Department calendar (inspections, audits, training); schedule safety-related meetings and record minutes
-
Schedule and attend JOHS meetings; capture minutes and track action items to completion.
-
Prepare draft communications such as safety bulletins, alerts, and lessons learned; share with site teams and stakeholders.

Coordinate safety supply inventory, ordering, and distribution to sites (PPE, first aid, hazardous products/SDS).

Monitor and report on leading and lagging safety performance indicators to drive improvements.
What will help you thrive:
-
Certificate or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or related field), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-
2 years in safety administration/co-ordination (construction or industrial), supporting multi-site operations.
-
Proficient with safety management systems, Microsoft 365, digital forms/QR codes; able to build basic reports/dashboards and maintain data accuracy.

Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
-
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; comfortable drafting safety bulletins/alerts and taking accurate meeting minutes.

Excellent file management, version control, and deadline management; high attention to detail and confidentiality with safety/employee data.

Ability to visit active job sites and wear required PPE; occasionally lift/move safety supplies (up to 25–30 lbs).

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; occasional travel between sites and flexibility for early hours or incident follow-ups.
