Job Description:
IMPORTANT: Must apply online.
Under the day-to-day leadership of the Manager, Campus Store Operations, the incumbent will be required to assist in the delivery of goods to learners during start of term. The incumbent will be required to operate a cash register, assist students with obtaining course materials, greeting and welcome students to the store as well as assist with gathering merchandise to fill online orders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing of cash register and accounts receivable sales. The incumbent must ensure the correct attribution of all merchandise sales to the proper retail department and the correct form of tender. (i.e. sponsored students, refunds, gift cards, department cards, cash, debit, cheque, credit and one card);
- Incumbent will be required to assist learners in obtaining their Course Materials needs during the back to school period. Customers will provide their course numbers to the counter service staff who will identify the required resources, obtain them from the shelving areas and provide them to the learner for them to bring to the checkout area. It is also expected that incumbents will provide exceptional customer service to learners throughout their service interaction;
- The incumbent will be required to gather merchandise to fill online orders received through the Campus Store website where the customer has indicated they would like to have their order shipped to their address via courier or picked up using our Click & Collect or Curbside service. Once gathered, these orders will be processed using the point of sale cash registers;
- The incumbent will be expected to welcome/thank customers upon entering/leaving the store, track the number of customers in the store, and ensure capacity limits are not exceeded as well as ensure that COVID-19 precautionary measures are enforced. Should the security gates trigger an alarm, the incumbent will be required to assist clients with verifying their purchases and deactivating any security tags that may still be active, causing the alarm to sound. A positive, enthusiastic attitude is crucial for success in this role.
Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent;

Minimum of one (1) year recent experience in handling cash;

Previous experience working in a bookstore environment is an asset;

Previous experience in an IT product sales position is an asset.
