About the role

ClearGov is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. You'll be a key contributor in designing, developing, and scaling the next generation of our cloud-based applications. You’ll work across multiple product lines, integrating acquired technologies, improving performance, and driving technical excellence across our growing ecosystem. This role is ideal for someone who’s both a builder and a problem-solver — someone who thrives on solving complex system challenges in a rapidly evolving environment.

Responsibilities

Serve as a senior full-stack technical contributor across frontend, backend, database, and cloud services. Design and deliver complex software features from concept to deployment. Build responsive frontend applications using Angular and React. Develop backend services and APIs using Node.js, Java, and Spring Boot. Support data-intensive budgeting and reporting workflows. Apply AI-assisted software development practices. Contribute to AI-enabled product capabilities, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic/vector search, embeddings, and prompt orchestration. Address technical debt and resolve production issues. Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and peer code reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum 10 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in a SaaS environment. Proficiency in Angular, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Experience with Node.js, Java, Spring Boot, and Express. Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL databases. Strong knowledge of API design and integration. Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, CodeRabbit, Greptile, or similar. Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector search, embeddings, and prompt orchestration. Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments.
