Western Media Group (WMG) is a Western Canadian-based independent trading desk and media rep firm that works with top agencies and direct advertisers to deliver advanced digital media solutions—including streaming audio, Connected TV, programmatic display, and DOOH. We believe in data-informed media strategy, and we’re looking to expand our team with a skilled Reporting and Analytics Specialist.
Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Reporting and Analytics Specialist to lead the development and management of reporting solutions for both internal stakeholders and external clients. You will be responsible for organizing and integrating multiple data sources, uncovering insights, and building dashboards that clearly tell the story of performance across a variety of digital media campaigns.
This role sits at the intersection of data, media, and client service—and is critical in helping us deliver on our promise of transparency, accountability, and results.
Ideally a hybrid position, one-to-three days in-office but open to remote.
Key Responsibilities
Dashboard Development & Management
- Build and maintain client-facing dashboards using Looker Studio or similar tools.
- Develop internal dashboards to support operations, campaign management, and executive oversight.
- Create both templated and custom dashboards tailored to campaign objectives and client reporting needs.
Insights & Analytics
- Translate campaign performance data into actionable insights and optimization recommendations.
- Monitor trends, anomalies, and performance signals across campaigns and media channels.
- Provide media performance insights that are accessible and valuable to non-technical stakeholders.
Collaboration & Enablement
- Work closely with Ad Ops, Sales, and leadership teams to ensure data supports business and campaign objectives.
- Support pre-sale data pulls and post-campaign analysis.
- Train internal teams on how to use dashboards and interpret metrics
Required Skills and Experience
- 3–5 years experience in digital marketing analytics, media reporting, or business intelligence.
- Proficiency in Looker Studio (or similar BI tools like Tableau, Power BI).
- Working knowledge of BigQuery, or other data warehousing/querying tools.
- Solid understanding of how to pull and combine data from multiple media platforms (e.g., programmatic, social, search).
- Strong grasp of digital KPIs across display, video, audio, podcasting, and Connected TV.
Nice to Have
- Experience writing custom scripts in JavaScript or Python for data cleaning, automation, or visualization.
- Familiarity with SQL.
- Familiarity with Google Tag Manager (GTM) and pixel implementation for tracking user behavior.
- Understanding of Google Analytics 4 and web analytics best practices.
- Awareness of the martech/adtech ecosystem, including measurement tools and attribution platforms.
- Experience working with measurement tools like ArtsAI, or LeadsRx is an asset.
