ABOUT THE ROLE
Vacancy Status: This posting is for a newly created vacancy.
Work Model: Front Line
Reporting to the Facility Supervisor, the part time Facility Operator will be required to assume a variety of day-to-day operations and maintenance responsibilities, working at any of our municipal recreation facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing all aspects of day-to-day operations and maintenance of recreation facilities including providing direction to part time staff in the absence of full-time operators.
- Monitoring and logging of arena and/or swimming pool operating equipment in accordance with applicable legislation.
- Maintaining ice surfaces and swimming pool water quality.
- Assisting with facility preventative maintenance program.
- Maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout the facility at all times.
- Conducting seasonal exterior maintenance as needed including snow removal, salting/sanding and general grounds maintenance.
- Facilitating the various set up requirements for both recreation programs and private rentals as needed.
- Maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A minimum of Grade 12 Secondary School education.
- A current Standard First Aid and CPR “C” certificate.
- A general knowledge of equipment and building maintenance.
- Previous experience performing all aspects of day-to-day operations and maintenance of indoor recreation facilities would be considered an asset.
- ORFA Basic Refrigeration and/or Certified Pool Operator Certificate would be considered an asset.
- Current WHMIS certification would be an asset.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Rate of pay: $24.77 per hour (2026 rate).
- Hours of work: up to a maximum of 24 hours per week including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
A satisfactory criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening and proof of qualifications will be required for the successful candidate.
