Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) Offers a Collaborative Environment That Values Professional Excellence And Work-life Balance. We Are Seeking Dedicated Family Physicians With Obstetrical Privileges To
Provide in-hospital coverage for acute obstetrical care and deliveries at the Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) maternity ward. Work alongside experienced primary care providers, registered midwives, registered nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff. Contribute to a model of care that prioritizes safety, compassion, and family centered care.
On average, 50-60 patients are delivered at the RIH maternity ward per month.
You will join a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team based at RIH, which includes:
Experienced and dedicated labour and delivery nurses, who perform triage, assessments, labour support and management, post-partum support, breastfeeding support, and a wealth of knowledge for patient education Registered midwife, ObGyn, and OB-IM colleagues for shared care and consultation Tier 4 NICU and Pediatrics support Allied health support from Public Health, Audiology Technologists, Respiratory Therapy, Dietician, Addictions Medicine
Our Clinical Team Works Together To Provide
Assessment of low-risk patients presenting to LDR triage
Non-Stress Tests (NSTs) Management of pregnancy complications and labour, with ObGyn consultation for complex patients Support of postpartum dyads on LDR Surgical assistance to ObGyn for Caesarean sections Follow up on patient results Antenatal education and teaching
At RIH, on-call coverage typically includes day shifts from 08:00 to 20:00, night shifts from 20:00 to 08:00, and occasional 24-hour shifts (average 12-18 hours per 24-hour shift is expected), with flexibility to support work-life balance.
