Manager, Employee Care
We are hiring a Manager, Employee Care based out of Calgary.
The Manager of Employee Care is responsible for maximizing employee engagement and the overall employee experience for the complete employment lifecycle. The Employee Care Manager will oversee the employee care team who work closely with our Operations and Support Services teams to ensure that we are following best practices and providing the highest level of service to our greatest resource, our people. The Manager of Employee Care will perform the following functions:
Employee and Stakeholder Relationships
- Answer day-to-day HR inquiries and questions for our Paladin staff and consult with Operations Directors and Managers to ensure that employee concerns are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Conduct in-person site visits at airport checkpoints or over-the-phone interviews to solicit feedback from employees for further improvement in working conditions.
- Be the point of contact for employees on matters pertaining to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Analyze and track employee concerns and communicates with the Director, P&C to address issues and find the best option for resolution, including additional coaching, mentorship or training for individuals or adjusting Paladin policies and procedures more widely to address team-based or systemic issues.
- Manage the Exit Interview Program and analyze trends and provide recommendations to the Director of People & Culture and other operational leaders on areas of risk and opportunities for improvement
- Analyze and synthesize People and Culture data to identify business risks and opportunities for development
- Provide strategic, innovative and measurable action plans to mitigate risks and gaps as it relates to People and Culture policies and programs
- Lead as Paladin CARE Culture Champion
- Distribute internal communication
- Support information sharing with Paladin’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee where applicable.
- Develop programs and initiatives for our Paladin people in delivering innovative ways to recognize, reward, inspire, engage, and increase the overall satisfaction of our diverse workforce, including through but not limited to Paladin CARE Awards.
- Promote and lead the execution of Employeee Engagement activities, celebrations and events
- Administer Paladin’s Employee Perks program.
- Manage the Exit Interview Program and analyze trends and provide recommendations to the Director of People & Culture and other operational leaders on areas of risk and opportunities for improvement
What you bring to PASS:
- Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field ( Ex. Human Resources, Labour/Industrial Relations)
- 7+ years progressive experience in a similar role
- CPHR Designation is strong asset
- Proven ability to lead a diverse team
- Previous experience working in a multi-union and/or federally regulated organization.
- Eligibility to obtain Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) and Federal Security Clearance
- Experience in building and implementing projects and initiatives to enhance company culture, brand and employee experience
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
- Effective communication verbal/written and ability to communicate with various audiences while maintain diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and able to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams
- Proficiency with standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience using HR systems
- Familiarity with union CBA, Canada Labour Code, Human Rights and employment legislation
- Fluency in French is considered an asset.
