To be more specific, here's what you'll be doing: Expertise and Training (35%)- Keep the agency’s rate cards up to date to ensure that strategists are working with optimal costs for media plans

  • Proactively share updates on media partners’ offerings in your area and relevant opportunities for clients with the media department
  • Ensure compliance with standards and best practices for TV, radio, and outdoor campaigns in collaboration with media management
  • Make recommendations on the optimal allocation of video and audio media spend across different platforms (linear, streaming, addressable, etc.)

Buying and Negotiation (30%)

  • Negotiate rates, preferred placements, and value-added services with media partners
  • Identify the best media buying opportunities and recommend the most effective distribution strategies
  • Translate media strategies into detailed buying plans
  • Review buying contracts and manage order confirmations

Campaign Monitoring and Optimization (20%)

  • Oversee the setup of campaigns and coordinate their rollout with internal teams, creative agencies, clients, and partners.
  • Prepare and send detailed broadcast instructions to stations to ensure the right message is aired in the right place at the right time.
  • Conduct pre- and post-campaign analyses to be shared with clients.
  • Monitor campaign performance and optimize placements during the broadcast when necessary.
  • Analyze results and produce campaign reports and strategic recommendations.

Operational Management and Coordination (15%)

  • Ensure rigorous monitoring of media budgets, agreements, and schedules.
  • Coordinate activations and communication with internal teams to ensure campaigns run smoothly.

To succeed in this role, you must:

  • Have advanced technical proficiency with the Numeris and Vividata audience measurement tools and the Lens media planning and buying management software.
  • Have relevant experience in media buying and/or media planning, ideally at an agency.
  • Be familiar with the Quebec and English-Canada market ecosystem for television, radio, and out-of-home advertising
  • Be comfortable with negotiating and managing relationships with media partners
  • Possess strong analytical skills to evaluate campaign performance and optimize media investments
  • Have a solid understanding of marketing objectives and media performance metrics.
  • Be organized and meticulous to manage a high volume of files, partners, plans, and routings without errors.

What you already have or are motivated to develop:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to analyze data and translate results into actionable recommendations.
  • Interest in media market trends and consumer behavior.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
  • Very good knowledge of Google Sheets.
  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written (to communicate regularly with English-speaking clients and partners).
