THE OPPORTUNITY
Scovan’s Design Team is driven to deliver innovative designs and high-quality project deliverables. We approach our work with curiosity, fresh perspectives, strong execution, and a commitment to exceeding client expectations. Our diverse group of designers continually seeks new and better ways to design—and to help others do the same.
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Mechanical Designer who combines strong technical design expertise with the ability to lead projects and model best design practices. In this role, you will work closely with project teams and be accountable for schedule, budget, and resource coordination.
This position reports directly to the Design Manager.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage design projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and budgets
- Coordinate schedule for paperspace deliverables with the Project Manager, Engineering and Design Team
- Oversee drafting deliverables, ensuring alignment with Scovan standards
- Schedule and facilitate internal or external model reviews including weekly meetings with drafting teams to discuss drafting deliverables progress or updates
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive project success
- Pursue continuous improvement and innovation in design processes
- Mentor and guide junior drafters
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of design and drafting experience
- Relevant degree, diploma, or certificate
- Proficient in AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant, and Microsoft Office
- To take ownership of the results and to work to improve future results;
- To provide leadership and accountability for the Drafting Project Team;
- Take initiative, advocate and exemplify teamwork, innovative thinking and problem solving.
