PROJECT OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our FCC Canada team assigned to the ONxpress Project
This position is located in downtown Toronto, O,N and requires a daily presence in the office and/or on the construction sites.
ONxpress Transportation Partners was chosen in 2022 by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario to deliver the track, civil infrastructure, signalling, and electrification for the GO Expansion program. This project will transform the GO Transit rail network, resulting in more frequent two-way service, shorter journey times, and a modernized system for the Greater Golden Horseshoe area.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving financial performance and strategic reports across the organization. This role involves deep collaboration with operations, project managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate financial insights, robust reporting, and actionable recommendations. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proficient in financial tools, including Excel and Power BI, with a strong understanding of project-based financial environments.
Reporting to: Finance Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Partner with operations and project teams to deliver project-level financial insights, including cost analysis, variance analysis, and profitability tracking.
- Develop and maintain financial models, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic planning and business growth.
- Conduct cash flow analysis and monitor working capital to optimize liquidity.
- Create and interpret financial reports tailored to project needs, including accruals and forecasting.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to present financial data to senior leadership in a clear and actionable format.
- Support management reporting, board presentations, and KPI tracking.
- Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, and Cost Control teams to gather data and streamline reporting processes.
- Assist with audit preparation and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Lead ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as required.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, preferably in construction, engineering, or related industries.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
- Strong business acumen and ability to connect financial insights to operational performance.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to seek continuous improvement.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Experience or understanding of transit or construction is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional environments and bridging gaps between Finance, Procurement, and Cost Control.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate financial needs and proactively support decision-making.
- Experience preparing reports for audit and compliance purposes.
