Role Overview
We’re looking for a Business Operations & Marketing Specialist to support the VP of Commercial Growth & Strategy as Lodgr which is the portfolio company under Scrawlr, launches its external beta and scales. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of marketing execution, commercial operations, and customer care, with a strong focus on process documentation to support scalability. You’ll work across teams, drive growth initiatives, and help keep tech priorities aligned with commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial
- Support the VP of Commercial Growth & Strategy in managing day-to-day commercial activities as Lodgr launches and scales.
- Assist with process mapping and operational improvements across commercial workflows.
- Track and analyze KPIs, producing clear reports and insights to guide decision-making.
- Prepare presentations, data summaries, and updates for leadership and stakeholders.
- Help track technology priorities against commercial requirements, escalating issues or concerns when alignment gaps arise.
Marketing
- Execute digital marketing initiatives, with a focus on performance marketing (paid search, social, display) and email marketing (segmentation, email flow, lifecycle automation, A/B testing).
- Support campaign planning and execution to drive host sign-ups and guest engagement.
- Contribute to content creation, distribution, and measurement to strengthen brand presence.
- Monitor campaign performance, optimize strategies, and share actionable recommendations.
Customer Care
- Provide first-line support to hosts and guests during beta and early launch phases.
- Help document and streamline customer care processes for scalability.
- Document frameworks and processes for customer care to allow smooth replication and onboarding of new staff as the team grows.
- Capture customer feedback and surface insights to the product and commercial teams.
- Maintain a helpful, solutions-focused approach to ensure strong relationships with early adopters.
Required Background, Skills, and Experience
- An undergraduate degree or business diploma, with 2–4 years of relevant work experience in marketing, business operations, or a startup/agency environment.
- Candidates without formal education may also qualify with equivalent professional experience.
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to track KPIs, build reports, and translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the strong written and oral communication.
- Independently capable of seeking information, documenting processes, and delivering results in challenging situations.
- Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and personal initiative, with comfort operating in a fast-paced startup environment.
Nice to Have Skills or Experience
- Project management experience.
- Experience mapping and documenting processes to support onboarding and scalability (eg. customer care workflows).
- Experience in customer-facing roles such as support, account management, or customer success.
- Experience with marketing and analytics tools such as Canva, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Mailchimp, and Meta Ad Planner.
Salary :
CAD$62,000 - CAD$85,000 base salary per annum
Position Type
