The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial and administrative support to the accounting team in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial operations. Our core values as an organization are the principles we were built on that guide us today: Great Experience: Every customer is entitled to a great experience Integrity: We are honest and transparent in our actions Diversity: We are stronger through the inclusion of people, brands and ideas Innovation: We passionately embrace opportunities for new and continuous improvements Empowerment: We encourage and support our people in taking initiative Giving Back: We positively impact the communities in which we live, work and raise families Accounts Payable Roles & Responsibilities Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables Ensure the accuracy of an organization’s financial documents for payment, auditing and tax purposes Protect businesses against unintentional overpayment Practice effective monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors in a timely manner Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or receiving signatures Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors. Ensure invoices are coded correctly and post in the period the transaction occurred Other duties as required by management. Account Payable Essential Skills Basic Accounting knowledge and Accounts Payable knowledge. 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred. Experience with the CDK program is considered an asset. Good numeracy skills, and sound analytical skills. Detail oriented and organized Excellent interpersonal and team building skills. Good problem solving and computer skills. Demonstrate effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy. Time management and leadership skills. Trustworthy, respectful and able to demonstrate strong work ethic. Self-motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision. Accounts Payable Educational Requirements An understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills is required A degree in the following subjects would be beneficial: Finance or Economics Business Studies Accounting What’s in it for you? Job Type: Full Time - Permanent Compensation (expected annual salary): $45,000 - $55,000 per year. The starting salary will be set within this range based on job-related factors such as relevant skills and experience.
