Position: Sub-System Engineer – Passenger Doors
About the Train System Team:
The Train System Team comprises engineers from diverse backgrounds working on various subsystems. We are currently looking for new talent to join our ranks.
Position Overview:
We have an open position for a Sub-System Engineer specializing in Passenger Doors. As a Sub-System Engineer, your responsibilities will encompass the following:
Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution: Work on all phases of project execution, including platform development, bids, project design, validation, and reliability growth.

Collaboration: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop train architecture and interfaces that accommodate your subsystem.

Performance Requirements: Define performance requirements and secure equipment to fulfill train-level requirements.

Supervision: Supervise the development, validation, and reliability growth phases.
About the Passenger Access Doors Team:
The Passenger Access Doors sub-system is a crucial and complex component that offers rewarding challenges from both design and operational standpoints. It integrates mechanical, electrical, and software concepts and interfaces, making it vital for the proper operation and safety of the train. The Passenger Access Doors Sub-System Engineering Team is responsible for establishing equipment needs and train architecture while overseeing the procurement, development, and validation of equipment that meets defined performance requirements in collaboration with sub-suppliers. The team ensures that equipment integration into the train is executed to guarantee safe and reliable operation. From development to validation, the team is accountable for ensuring that both the equipment and the train are designed and validated to demonstrate compliance with all requirements while meeting reliability and availability standards.
Responsibilities Include:

Conduct systems failure analysis, troubleshooting, and solution development in coordination with other engineering disciplines and suppliers.

Analyze system requirements, clarify, interpret, and align them with other engineering disciplines to establish a common technical view.

Prepare operational and train-wide system concepts based on captured and derived requirements.
-
Develop relevant train-level technical documentation.
-
Review system Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and resolve communication issues with interfacing systems.
-
Perform analyses to confirm that the designed train and its subsystems meet all engineering requirements.

Prepare relevant system-level technical documentation.
-
Review verification and validation plans to ensure adherence to requirements.
-
Prepare, review, and support system-relevant verification and validation activities (e.g., test procedure preparation, test conduct, and/or support, First Article Inspection (FAI) witnessing, etc.).

Manage and document system configurations.
-
Support the transition into production.
Desired Profile:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related subject.
-
OIQ member or all prerequisites to become one.
-
Experience in a manufacturing or design environment.
-
Experience in systems integration.
-
Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software concepts.

Expertise in systems failure analysis, troubleshooting, and solution integration.
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-
Experience in railroad system integration is an asset.
-
Proficiency in French and English is mandatory.
