The Lifting Automation Division specializes in smart lifting solutions using vacuum technology, which can be implemented in industries such as logistics, food & beverage, pharma, automotive, woodworking, and aviation. Job Mission:
Design and deliver customized lifting automation solutions that meet customer requirements and comply with industry standards and safety regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Provide technical support through all project phases, from site assessment and design to installation and commissioning, while continuously seeking opportunities to improve product designs and processes using the latest advancements in automation and robotics.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop lifting automation solutions tailored to customer requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, production, and R&D, to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine the best lifting solutions for clients.
- Provide technical support and guidance during the installation and commissioning of lifting equipment.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including design specifications, reports, and manuals.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide innovative solutions that enhance their operations.
- Engage with vendors to source and fabricate materials and structures for custom projects
- Coordinate with client and service team to prepare and schedule installations
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve product designs and processes, leveraging the latest advancements in automation and robotics.
Skills Required:
- Strong technical knowledge in mechanical or industrial engineering, with a focus on automation and material handling systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software for designing and modelling lifting solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and internal teams.
- Project management skills to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and ensure successful delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for licensure in Ontario is preferred.
- Experience in the design and implementation of lifting or automation systems
- Experience with design and implementation of light duty jib cranes and overhead gantry cranes is highly desirable.
- Experience with Pre-Start Health & Safety Reviews (PSHSR) and related documentation
