YOUR IMPACT:
OpenText is seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior M Manager to join our Corporate Development team. This role will be a key contributor to the company’s inorganic growth strategy across a $200B+ total addressable market. You will lead cross-functional teams, assist in managing end-to-end deal execution, and help shape the future of OpenText’s global portfolio.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS:
- Leading the full lifecycle of M transactions, including sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, negotiation, and integration/divestiture planning.
- Building financial models and conducting valuation analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Maintaining a robust pipeline of acquisition targets in collaboration with business unit leaders.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders across Finance, Legal, HR, Product, Sales and Operations to ensure seamless deal execution, post-merger integration or divestiture planning.
- Identifying and assessing strategic fit, risks, and synergies of potential targets or divestiture opportunities.
- Preparing and presenting investment memos and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Maintaining relationships with external advisors, including investment banks, private equity and venture capital firms
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- 7+ years of experience in M, investment banking, corporate development, or venture capital – ideally within the software or tech sectors.
- Proven track record of executing complex acquisitions and divestitures.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation and business case development skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; MBA, CA or CFA considered an asset.
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed
