The Opportunity
Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (“Triton”) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Project Financial Analyst to join a well-established team of environmental professionals. This position can be based out of any Triton office location.
In this role, you will play a key part in managing the financial performance of specific projects, ensuring they stay within budget and meet financial goals. You will be responsible for financial data analysis, forecast development, and providing your insights on how to meet the financial goals of the projects and needs of our clients. Furthermore, you will be forecasting expenses, creating financial models, ensuring compliance, and reporting on project finances.
What You’ll Do
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop and manage project budgets.
- Forecast project costs and revenue.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.
- Create financial models to support decision-making.
Project Monitoring & Control
- Track project expenses and revenue against the budget.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks and opportunities.
- Ensure project compliance with company and client policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain project dashboards and KPIs to track financial
- Recommend cost control measures and efficiency improvements.
- Monitor indirect costs and overhead allocations tied to project.
Reporting & Communication
- Maintain project financial documentation for audit readiness and financial
compliance reviews. - Prepare financial reports for project stakeholders.
- Present financial information to project managers and senior management.
- Communicate financial risks and opportunities to relevant parties.
Other Responsibilities

Review contracts and change orders.

Manage accounts receivable and revenue.

Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.

Track cost eligibility for reimbursable expenses under contract terms.

Assist with project financial reporting and invoicing.
What You Bring
-
Post Secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field is preferred.
-
5+ years relevant project financial management experience - ideally supporting a diverse team of field and in-house consultants and management professionals.

Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
-
Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
-
Experience with financial software and systems.
-
Proficiency with computers, with considerable knowledge of MS OfficeBuilds
-
Knowledge of project management principles.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
-
Effective interpersonal relationships - having the ability to work well with others on a team, creating a positive and productive work environment.

Ability to work independently, highly organized, able to manage both time and workload efficiently to ensure that projects are completed on time.

Detailed oriented, with a high degree of accuracy when working with data.

Must conduct all work in an ethical and prudent manner.
