Watching Over Women “WOW” Toronto is an empowerment center for women of diverse races, cultures, ages, socio-economic situations, and sexual orientations who have survived rape, sexual violence, sexual harassment, or any form of gender-based violence. Program Manager Volunteer
WOW Toronto is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Program Coordinator to provide overall support and coordination of its client workshops and empowerment group sessions geared towards helping women who have experienced rape, sexual violence, sexual harassment, or any form of gender-based violence. The Program Coordinator will help with the management of client sign-ups, create workshop content, deliver workshops, line up guest speakers for group sessions, create weekly group session topics and support other workshop facilitators.
Responsibilities
● Create workshop offerings for clients: generating topic ideas for weekly group sessions, creating workshop outlines, and building out session materials ● Facilitate workshops covering topics such as Self-Esteem, Body Image, Building Trust, etc. ● Support other facilitators by ensuring they have lessons plans and workshop materials, and as well as taking client attendance during the workshops ● Support and manage clients; monitoring clients who have signed up for workshops, answering client questions, reviewing client feedback and suggestions ● perform outreach/networking initiatives for possible partnership opportunities ● Assist with any events created by facilitator or WOW Toronto for either program such as attendance/sign up forms, scheduling, funding approval Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
● Undergraduate degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or a related field ● At least 1 year of similar experience; includes experience acquired through practicum or volunteering
