About Gastops: Moving You since 1979

Over the last 47 years, Gastops has built a robust business which is recognized worldwide for its innovative contributions to equipment health management in the aviation, energy, marine, industrial and transportation industries. Gastops’ products and services add value throughout the life cycle of complex critical equipment from the design stage through to in-service operations and support. We design, manufacture, and support advanced equipment sensing and analysis products, including on-line oil debris sensors, torque measurement sensors, turbine blade health sensors, and at-line oil analysis systems.

Based in Ottawa, Ontario the Senior Project Manager will report into the Project and Program Management Office (PPMO). This on-site role is a leader within the Integrated Program Team (IPT) and will focus on the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering projects. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and builds partnerships with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program teams to drive execution and ensure measurable results.

What You’ll Do:

  • Planning & Execution: Lead cross-functional project planning, execution, opportunity exploitation, and risk mitigation activities. Maintain alignment with program-level objectives and support prioritization within the IPT.
  • Scope, Schedule, & Budget: Own, track, and maintain project scope, schedules, budgets, and project baselines; utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) to track performance and implement corrective actions when variances occur.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Provide timely, clear reporting to internal leadership, program management, and customer stakeholders.
  • Resource Management: As required, support cross-functional resource planning by negotiating with resource managers and key stakeholders to ensure project objectives are fully supported and equipped for success.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Coach and mentor project managers, helping strengthen project discipline across the team. Motivate and lead cross-disciplinary IPT(s).
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion process improvements, contribute to PPMO standards/processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Quality: Ensure all project deliverables meet quality/safety/regulatory standards and customer/contractual requirements.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Proactively identify risks, opportunity, troubleshoot issues, and lead structured problem-solving efforts.

Please note that this job description is not meant to be an all-inclusive statement of every duty and responsibility that will ever be required of an employee in the job.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience leading complex projects in engineering, aerospace/space, manufacturing, or similar regulated environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Business or Relevant proven experience.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong risk management and dependency mapping skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to align engineers, manufacturing, and executives.
  • Pragmatic and execution-oriented mindset focused on delivering outcomes over process theory.
  • PMP or equivalent designation is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of product manufacturing, procurement, and product qualification considered an asset.
  • Proven experience managing the end-to-end project lifecycle, from initial proof of concept and design through formal qualification and transition into serial production.
  • Eligible to obtain a Security Clearance (NATO Level Clearance).
