It also acts as a trusted investment resource for CIBC Wood Gundy’s investment advisors by providing timely and insightful advice to CIBC Wood Gundy’s Investment Advisors on North American equities, fixed income and preferred shares directly or through the ISG’s conference calls and publications. This role is for a qualified individual with a demonstrated interest in the financial markets who is interested in a career in wealth management.

The Manager, Investment Strategy will play a pivotal role within the ISG at CIBC Private Wealth. This position is responsible for delivering operational and administrative support in portfolio management activities including portfolio reconciliation, maintaining trade calculators and providing support in the execution of ISC Portfolio trades. The role also involves generating content for our publications and providing timely responses to Investment Advisors’ inquiries and requests. Additionally, the role involves providing research coverage for a designated North American equity sector, using existing research partnerships to generate timely, fundamentally driven investment ideas for the ISC Portfolios. These efforts directly contribute to our commitment to delivering consistent, competitive risk-adjusted performance for our clients.

The ideal candidate is an effective communicator with strong multitasking capabilities and time management skills. Responsibilities include offering informed advice and insights on equities to CIBC Wood Gundy investment advisors, backed by thorough research and an in-depth understanding of financial markets. These recommendations are designed to assist advisors and their clients in achieving their investment objectives.

This individual will share insights both directly with investment advisors and through written contributions to ISG publications. Success in this role requires the ability to perform efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced, and time-sensitive environment.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Operational support and advice - Contribute or lead administrative processes by attending to Investment Advisor inquires in a timely manner, maintaining and updating spreadsheets and marketing presentations, updating web-based content and responding promptly to ad-hoc requests.
  • Publications – Participate in the production of the ISG’s daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly publications and contributing content as needed regarding the financial markets and individual equities.
