Position Overview

Real Fruit Bubble Tea is hiring a Junior IT Software Developer/Barista for a hybrid role combining software development, technical support, travel to store locations, and scheduled barista shifts. The successful candidate will support the company’s POS systems, internet connections, payment terminals, kiosks, computers, and internal software tools. They will also assist with programming, system improvements, troubleshooting, and technology installations for new and existing stores. Candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when scheduled as a barista.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development and IT Support Assist with developing, testing, maintaining, and improving internal software applications, dashboards, and automated tools. Write clean, organized, and documented code. Troubleshoot software, hardware, network, POS, kiosk, and payment-terminal issues. Support system integrations, databases, APIs, reporting tools, and business applications. Assist with software testing, debugging, updates, deployments, and technical documentation. Install and configure internet connections, POS systems, kiosks, printers, computers, and payment machines. Provide remote and on-site technical support to stores and administrative employees. Travel to store locations for installations, repairs, upgrades, and new store openings. Communicate with managers, internet providers, POS vendors, and payment-processing companies. Maintain IT equipment records, service documentation, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Support staff training related to technology systems and software. Follow company requirements for cybersecurity, privacy, access control, and data protection. Stay current with programming languages, software tools, and IT industry developments.

Barista Responsibilities

Prepare bubble tea, fruit drinks, toppings, and ingredients according to company standards. Take customer orders and process payments. Provide professional and friendly customer service. Prepare fruit and restock store supplies. Clean equipment, counters, floors, and work areas. Remove garbage and complete general store-cleaning duties. Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures. Support store operations during busy periods.

Qualifications

Education or practical experience in computer programming, software development, computer science, information technology, or a related field. Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, or PHP. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, databases, SQL, APIs, or Git is an asset. Basic understanding of software development, testing, debugging, and documentation. Knowledge of computers, operating systems, networking, and internet troubleshooting. Experience with POS systems, payment terminals, restaurant technology, or customer service is an asset. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to explain technical information to non-technical employees. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage software-development tasks, technical-support requests, travel, and store responsibilities. Programming projects, internships, GitHub repositories, or a development portfolio are considered assets.

Additional Requirements

Personal vehicle and valid driver’s licence are required. Must be able to travel regularly to store locations. Must be available for scheduled barista shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be comfortable working in office, store, and field environments. Must be able to lift and install computers, POS equipment, printers, kiosks, and networking devices when required.
