About the role
Position Overview
We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team onsite in Vancouver, BC. Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Director, you’ll be the boots on the ground ensuring our crews and subcontractors work safely every day.
This is not a desk job - you’ll be out in the field, engaging directly with workers, supervisors, and subcontractors to build and sustain a strong safety culture. Your leadership will help prevent incidents, resolve issues quickly, and keep our project running safely and smoothly.
Reports to: Health and Safety Director
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety observations, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Lead accident investigations and identify root causes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of safety records, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Intervene to correct unsafe practices and ensure conformance with safety protocols.
- Deliver routine health and safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors.
- Draft, update, and distribute safety information to crews and subcontractors.
- Analyze safety data, recommend improvements, and track KPIs.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure timely resolution of safety issues.

- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; able to work and mentor diverse groups.
- Ability to influence the development of a strong onsite safety culture.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to deliver in person training material and presentations to a larger audience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
- Ability to act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and build confidence in the safety program.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of construction safety management and Occupational Health & Safety guidelines.
- Ability to follow up on incidents, inspections and corrective actions until resolution.
- Experience maintaining safety databases and preparing periodic reports.
- Ability to work flexible hours and days including weekends.
Education & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Eligible or working toward CRSP, CSO, or similar certification.
- Eligible for Advanced First Aid.
