Job Title: Heavy Duty Cleaner – Part Time
Location: Scarborough, ON
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM (9 hours per week).
About the Role:
We’re looking for reliable, conscientious individuals with who take pride in shiny clean spaces and to support our client by providing an essential service – keeping their workforce safe. If you understand the importance of Health & Safety, sanitation and cleanliness, we want to hear from you.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Perform comprehensive cleaning, dusting, and sanitization of all facility areas and all high touch points, including offices, washrooms, kitchens, hallways, lobbies, and common spaces. This includes all surfaces, countertops, tables, fixtures, glass, and high-touch points.
- Ensure all consumables (example, soap, paper towels, etc.) are restocked.
- Maintain all floors by sweeping mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming. Operate and maintain commercial floor care equipment (e.g., auto scrubbers, buffers) and promptly address spills.
- Manage the collection and disposal of all waste and recycling from across the facility, ensuring it is transported to designated areas according to company protocols.
- Perform specialized cleaning tasks, which may include operating equipment like a Kyvac machine in a specialized facility or sanitizing animal enclosures according to strict infection prevention protocols.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including proper chemical handling and use of PPE. Maintain cleaning equipment, report any maintenance or supply needs, and respond to cleaning requests as required.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Qualifications & Abilities:
- Previous commercial or heavy-duty cleaning experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of sanitation protocols and safe chemical handling (WHMIS an asset).
- Experience with commercial cleaning equipment (e.g., auto scrubbers) is beneficial.
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Physically able to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Comfortable working in an environment with animals (for relevant sites).
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
