About the role
Who you are
- Strong background and familiarity with AI development workflow, coding assistants, AI tooling & Agentic frameworks for infrastructure provisioning
- Understanding of AI/MLOps, retraining and evaluation workflows as well as an understanding of the tooling that support these
- Experience building and supporting cloud & hybrid infrastructure – Azure, AWS, GCP, VMware, OpenShift & Bare-metal
- Experience in containerization solutions – Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, OCP), Docker
- Experienced in pipeline development for CI/CD & IaaC
- Solid grasp of configuration management and infrastructure automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, GitHub Actions
- Strong knowledge of code versioning and build tools such as Jenkins, Git, Artifactory
- Solid networking background (TCP/IP, TLS & cert management, Load Balancing, Routing, Switching, IP networking, F5, SD-WAN fundamentals)
- Experience supporting database instances – RDBMS or NoSQL (e.g., Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB)
- Experience with environmental and application monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, Azure Log Analytics & Azure monitor, Dynatrace, Zabbix, Prometheus, ELK etc.)
- Any Cloud deployment certification - AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or MCSE Cloud Platform & infrastructure
- AI/ML & Data science knowledge & experience
What the job involves
- Mastercard are looking for a talented Cloud platform engineer to join the Mastercard Foundry team
- In this role you will work in a highly agile team to support product development and innovation projects, managing cloud-based & hybrid hosting environments as well as the implementation and maintenance of development services
- An additional core focus of the role is to experiment and try out new & emerging technologies, with the view to designing and building out the next generation hosting platform
- Our team is built on a foundation of research and development, mining innovation internally and creating new product lines with emerging technologies
- As part of Foundry, the team both supports the existing environments, but also researches new technologies and processes to continuously push our hosting environment and development experience
- Role requires working with various cross-functional engineering specialists, project managers and application development teams to define and implement a cloud-based hosting solution
- Working with emerging technologies, AI driven tools & agentic use cases and incorporating same into common SDLC/PDLC
- Responsible for supporting running applications, infrastructure, and development teams on a day-to-day basis
- Capturing technical requirements and defining technology solutions for approval; creating the conceptual, logical, and physical design of the solution to ensure appropriate technology is acquired and implemented
- Evaluating technologies and determining strengths and weaknesses of technology architecture, implementation, and suitability; recommending solutions to ensure consistency with the company vision
- Ensures technical feedback from stakeholders is brought back to ensure it is taken into consideration for future technology and solution directions
- Support Mastercard Foundry’s 24 x7 Production cloud environment
