Rimbey is a small town of approximately 2600 and is located approximately 45 minutes north west of Red Deer. The Rimbey Home Care program serves a large area of clients including the community of Rimbey and surrounding areas. We work closely with community groups, other health care services in the community and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Registered Nurse - Case Manager is responsible for directing the care of clients under the home care program. The Case Manager must have strong interpersonal communication and interdisciplinary team player skills, excellent critical thinking, creativity, resourcefulness, time management, and organization abilities. The Case Manager responsibilities include assessment of client needs, establishing goals for client care delivery, planning, delivering, and coordination of care needs, resources, and services within professional practice standards and home care program guidelines, communication and coordination of client care with the interdisciplinary team; and evaluation of outcomes.

Rimbey is the centre of a thriving mixed farming and oil and gas region and is the gateway to some excellent recreation facilities. Rimbey is centrally located amongst many lakes and rivers and close to the foothills and mountains. Rimbey is within close proximity to Sylvan Lake, Gull Lake and Pigeon Lake. An abundant array of wildlife offers endless hours of enjoyment for photographers and nature lovers. The town has a very sound economy and is blessed with having most services within the community. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program.

Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to be on call as per operational needs and report to the site/client’s home for on call/call back duties within 60-90 minutes of call.

Preferred Qualifications:

New grads will be considered and training is available for the right candidate. Training in case management principles is an asset. Knowledge of the continuing care sector and various levels of care is an asset. Connect Care and interRAI HC training is preferred. Experience in wound care with excellent knowledge of wound care principles and wound care product use is an asset.
