About the role

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Manager, Agronomic Market Development on a permanent basis on our Ag Solutions team.

This position is a hybrid opportunity with preference for candidates located near one our regional offices located in Saskatoon or Regina, SK; Calgary or Edmonton, AB; or Winnipeg, MB.

Join FCL in a pivotal leadership role that drives growth, innovation, and technical excellence across Western Canada’s agriculture landscape. As the Manager, Agronomic Market Development, you will lead a team of agronomy experts who support Local Co-ops in becoming trusted advisors to farm customers—fueling growth in seed, crop protection, and crop nutrition.

If you’re passionate about agronomy, energized by innovation, and motivated by meaningful industry impact, this is your opportunity to lead change and support the long-term success of the Co-operative Retailing System.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive the strategic agronomic direction using market insights and industry feedback, while elevating the Grow Teams’ reputation.
  • Build strong relationships with academia, extension, government, and manufacturer partners; collaborate on training, new products, and shared agronomic priorities.
  • Partner with Marketing to communicate Co‑op Agro’s technical expertise, ensure accuracy of agronomic content, and share Grow Team strategies with manufacturer partners.
  • Lead agronomic training strategy—setting annual objectives, delivering technical and soft‑skill training, and ensuring GTAs effectively support local Grow Teams through coaching and in‑field development.
  • Lead and continuously improve the field trial program by setting annual direction, sharing objectives and data insights with stakeholders, and partnering with Marketing to communicate key messages internally and externally.
  • Lead the strategy, targets, and continued development of the GWP and 4R programs; explore integration with broader sustainability and traceability platforms; partner with Marketing to communicate key messages; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on validation, brand, and training initiatives; and provide forward-looking recommendations on sustainable production trends to Commodity Managers and Grow Teams
  • Work with the Digital Ag Manager to understand needs and develop a training plan for successful digital ag uptake at Local Co-ops; set training direction, deployment, and success measures with GTAs; lead GTAs in supporting ongoing digital ag platform adoption—including dynamic farm planning and intelligent field scouting—and clearly articulate to Local Co-ops the benefits (“WIIFM”) of consistent use of digital ag and related platforms such as CRM.

Who you’ll work with:

The Team: You will work closely with and lead a team of Grow Team Advisors to strengthen seed, crop protection, and fertilizer business growth while enhancing the CRS’s reputation as a trusted advisor and develop direction and metrics for key initiatives such as field trials, digital ag, and GWP adoption; you will ensure GTAs effectively support Key Account Managers and Retail Operations Specialists as they collaborate with Local Co-ops to achieve their Ag Solutions business objectives.

Why it matters:

Our Agro team helps to feed and grow Western Canadian communities by sourcing and distributing products and services to local Co-ops in the feed, crop supplies and fertilizer business.

Who you are:

You are looking to advance your career in Agronomy and:

  • Have 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in sales or research experience in agriculture.
  • Have a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • A license to practice agrology (PAg) or a Certified Crop Advisor designation is required.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salaries, short-term incentives, a comprehensive benefits package, and an employer-contributed pension plan.
  • Encouragement to take advantage of learning opportunities to grow and develop as a Team Member.
  • As a co-operative, we do business differently. We believe in working together to serve Western Canadians, delivering profits back to our communities and investing in sustainable growth. To learn more about who we are and what we offer, visit www.fcl.crs.

If this opportunity speaks to you, we invite you to apply by March 15, 2026.

As this position is considered a position of trust and safety sensitive, you may be required to complete a criminal record check and drug & alcohol test in accordance with FCL policies.

FCL embraces diversity and inclusion. We’re working to create a workforce that is as diverse as the communities we serve and an environment where every team member brings their whole self to work. We believe all candidates should feel at home with us and be given the opportunity to fully participate during the recruitment process.
